flexMeter runs entirely on your Mac. No servers, no cloud sync infrastructure (iCloud Air Log sync uses your own iCloud), no AI inference (FoundationModels runs on-device). Charging a subscription would not be honest pricing for what this product is.

flexMeter is local. iCloud Air Log Sync uses your own private database. On-device AI uses FoundationModels. There's no recurring cost on our side to fund a subscription with — and the audiences that value standards literacy are the same audiences most allergic to subscription rent-seek.
flexMeter does not phone home. It does not record or transmit audio. The microphone permission is used solely to install an audio tap. Your files stay where you put them.
No countdown timers. No "only 12 left." No fabricated scarcity. When the launch promo ends, we'll say so plainly with a real date.
Existing Plus customers receive free updates within the Plus tier through the v1.x line. Same for Pro. When v2 ships, that's a paid major-version upgrade with a 50% loyalty discount — and we'll say so plainly when it's coming.
$50 differential. On the App Store, Apple's automatic crossgrade handles it. Direct sale uses an upgrade SKU at the same $50.
